Personal loan for business purposes
The loan is unsecured, so there’s no need to put ahead of any assets or guarantors to back the application. All owners or partners in a business can discretely apply for a business or personal loan up to £25 000 each, with a maximum of £100 000 accessible per business. Quick credit checks and loan assessments
You are still entitled to apply for a Start-Up Loan if you are buying an existing business.
You can still buy the business even if that business has been trading for more than two years under discrete ownership, provided you personally have not owned the business.
Our loan process
Throughout the application process, we will handle a personal credit check with the Credit Reference Agency (CRA). Our general loan assessment will also take into the power and viability of your business, indicated through the Business Plan and Cash Flow Forecast you send with your application.
Excluded loan purposes
Start-Up Loans are created to fund the beginning costs of starting and exposing business and therefore cannot be used to finance the following activities:
- Debt payback.
- Instructing, modifications or educational programmes.
- Expenditure opportunities that do not form part of an on-going sustainable business.
- Debt consolidation
How we treat business partnerships
Where there is a business necessity, multiple business partners can separately apply for a Start-Up short-term loan of up to £25 000. However, please note that we can only loan a maximum of £100 000 to any business. Each partner's application will be assessed individually and if prosperous, each individual will be personally responsible for their loan.
